TATTOO DETOUR: Finding myself happily in Honolulu for an extended period of time this summer, I began to draw at the beach, in hotel lobbies and restaurants. Conflations of surfers, tattoos, military guys, palm trees, pigeons, lobby furniture, waves and Starbuck's tables, the images offer intersections between fantasy and reality, fact and fiction.
