PEAK PERFORMANCE (#26-2951)
India ink & acrylic on 2 paper panels, 24 x 36 inches overall
TEXT:
Can't beat the view I always thought, gazing at Pike's Peak from
Uncle Jim's front lawn those high school summers, Like wow! The
ridge outlines, the rock faces, the shoulders in creeping sun
and shadows, maybe some snow even. So one day I'm walking down
the hill on an errand to King Soopers, and there in a garage with
the big door open are Like Wow! three boys working out shirtless
on a weight bench. Back then I would not have struck up a conversation
too easily, but from then on every day I would discover we needed
something from the store. This was my Peak Performance. Still
can't beat the view.
