TEXT:
Every sunset we come up to the roof to watch the sky, the clouds, the layers of color, the raking shadows play their drama while the ocean responds with its shimmer, its tremulous skin. And every sunset we consider our own paltry efforts to construct a parallel on paper, a palimpsest of emotion and eloquence to match the grandiloquence and offhand birthright of the cosmos. And every sunset, as much as we are tempted to think we will always lose this game, we realize that our sheer urge to try lets us win.
